Working with Single Moms

A big thank you to Energize for hosting us!

So, what does a training look like?

Probably not what you expect, because just like you, each group is different. It is important for us as a team to spend time in prayer, asking God to care for his people how He wants to- His agenda- not ours.

So, this training was different. We started slow. Graecia slowed us down with a few breathing exercises and a chance to let our minds settle, setting aside our worries and thoughts for the morning.

She shared about understanding what trauma does to our bodies, our minds and our spirit. As Single moms, these ladies are constant care givers. This time of training and support gave them an opportunity to examine not only how stressful events impacts their lives, but their children as well.

I followed up with a time of addressing how we cope with challenges in our lives and how we can ‘pour in’ better so that we have more to ‘pour out’- to our children, our jobs, our family, our friends.

It was a beautiful morning and we were so grateful to be a part of it.

Blessings to you as you continue to be His hands and feet.
